Debian 10 Buster has just been released and if you want to run it, you can simply setup a VirtualBox VM and spin it. That is what this guide is about, spinning Debian 10 Buster on VirtualBox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Install Debian 10 Buster on VirtualBox<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Download Debian 10 Buster ISO<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To install Debian 10 Buster on VirtualBox, you can either use a CD\/DVD iso file. Both CD\/DVD disk contains all the files necessary to install a standard Debian system. However, a CD iso file is used in this guide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Navigate to the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"downloads page (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.debian.org\/CD\/http-ftp\/\" target=\"_blank\">downloads page<\/a> and choose the CD of your respective architecture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Create VirtualBox New Machine<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have download the installation ISO file, launch VirtualBox and create a new VM. In this guide, we are going to choose the <strong>Guided partitioning<\/strong> and setup<strong> LVM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Debian-10-guided-partitioning-with-lvm.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"764\" height=\"538\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Debian-10-guided-partitioning-with-lvm.png\" alt=\"Debian 10 Buster Disk partition\" class=\"wp-image-3552\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, select the disk to partition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have selected the disk, you can then choose the partitioning scheme from the options provided. This guide uses entire disk. Verify the disk settings and press continue to install Debian 10 Buster base system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the base system installation is done, you need to configure the package manager. You are prompted to select another disk, if any, where <strong>apt<\/strong> package manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the Debian mirror that is close to your country or region that can  be used by the package manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are going through any proxy server, configure the Proxy connection details. If there is none, press enter to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you need to participate in the package usage survey, select Yes otherwise, select No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the next step, select the software to install.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"785\" height=\"586\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/software-package-installation.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3553\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/software-package-installation.png 785w, https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/software-package-installation-768x573.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 785px) 100vw, 785px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Select the packages to install and press enter to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the package installation is done, you are prompted to install GRUB bootloader to MBR. Press Enter to finish the installation. The system will reboot and automatically detach the installation medium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Login to Debian 10 Buster<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On the software installation step, we chose to install KDE Plasma as our desktop environment.
