This guide uses 4 interfaces (LAN, WAN, DMZ, WiFi). (Arrangement may vary for your case)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>First Interface: RED Zone (WAN) &#8211; <strong>NAT Interface<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Second Interface: GREEN Zone (LAN) &#8211; Internal network- <strong>HostOnly Interface (192.168.10.0\/24)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Third Interface: ORANGE Zone (DMZ) &#8211; Internal network- <strong>intnet2<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fourth Interface: BLUE Zone (WiFi) &#8211; Internal network- <strong>intnet3<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you have created a new virtual machine, mount the Endian Firewall ISO file and boot the new virtual machine with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-fw-virtual-machine-settings.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"962\" height=\"650\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-fw-virtual-machine-settings.png?v=1721927864\" alt=\"Install and Configure Endian Firewall on VirtualBox\" class=\"wp-image-23196\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-fw-virtual-machine-settings.png?v=1721927864 962w, https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-fw-virtual-machine-settings-768x519.png?v=1721927864 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 962px) 100vw, 962px\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"install-and-configure-endian-firewall-on-virtual-box-1\">Install and Configure Endian Firewall on VirtualBox<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you are done setting up the virtual machine, click <strong>Start<\/strong> to launch the installation of Endian Firewall on VirtualBox.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the virtual machine boots, you are prompted to choose the installation language.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-fw-install-language.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"721\" height=\"552\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-fw-install-language.png\" alt=\"Endian Firewall installation language\" class=\"wp-image-23201\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Choose your language and press Enter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the welcome screen, press <strong>Ok<\/strong> to proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, Select <strong>Yes<\/strong> and press Enter to start partitioning the disk in preparation for installation of EFW.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/prepare-endian-fw-disk-partitioning.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"709\" height=\"543\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/prepare-endian-fw-disk-partitioning.png\" alt=\"EFW disk partitioning\" class=\"wp-image-23200\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Next, you are prompted to enable connection over serial cable. This is optional and thus it is disabled in this guide.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/enable-serial-console.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"732\" height=\"556\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/enable-serial-console.png\" alt=\"EFW GREEN interface\" class=\"wp-image-23199\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Next, you need to configure Endian Firewall <strong>GREEN<\/strong> interface IP. GREEN interface IP is the LAN interface IP for EFW. The default IP for the GREEN interface is <strong>192.168.0.15\/24<\/strong>. Be sure to change this based on your network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember this is the internal network LAN interface we assigned while setting up virtual machine.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-fw-green-interface-IP.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"714\" height=\"544\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-fw-green-interface-IP.png\" alt=\"EFW GREEN interface\" class=\"wp-image-23198\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Press <strong>Ok<\/strong> to proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once you are done with network settings, press Enter to run post installation tasks and install EFW on VirtualBox.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><a href=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-firewall-installed.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"702\" height=\"558\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-firewall-installed.png\" alt=\"Endian Firewall Installation complete\" class=\"wp-image-23197\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p>Once the installation is done, press Enter to reboot the EFW virtual machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When it boots up, it presents to the GRUB menu. Proceed to the Next page to complete the installation and configuration of EFW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"endian-fw-network-configuration-from-console\">Endian FW Network Configuration from Console<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, configure your network interface with proper IP addresses and routes from the console by choosing option 5, <strong>Network Configuration Wizard<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When ask for the root password, use the default one, <strong>endian<\/strong>. You will be asked to set your new password. Thus, set it and proceed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Set the <strong>hostname<\/strong> and <strong>domain<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"795\" height=\"321\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/set-efw-hostname-and-domain.png?v=1721930459\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23204\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/set-efw-hostname-and-domain.png?v=1721930459 795w, https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/set-efw-hostname-and-domain-768x310.png?v=1721930459 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 795px) 100vw, 795px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Configure Endian FW interface settings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>WAN\/RED interface &#8211; the NAT-ed interface:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Device: <strong>eth0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DHCP: <strong>yes<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Primary DNS: <strong>8.8.8.8<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Secondary DNS: <strong>9.9.9.9<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>LAN\/GREEN interface (HostOnly type):\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Device: <strong>eth1<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IP: <strong>192.168.10.100\/24<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DHCP: <strong>off<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ORANGE Interface:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Device: <strong>eth2<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IP: <strong>192.168.20.100\/24<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>BLUE Interface\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Device: <strong>eth<\/strong>3<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>IP: <strong>192.168.30.100\/24<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Also, allow SSH (Port 22) and Web Access (Port  80,443) from any interface for now:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"779\" height=\"477\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/interface-configuration-and-ssh-web-access.png?v=1721931485\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23205\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/interface-configuration-and-ssh-web-access.png?v=1721931485 779w, https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/interface-configuration-and-ssh-web-access-768x470.png?v=1721931485 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 779px) 100vw, 779px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Review the settings and write them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"765\" height=\"477\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/efw-console.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23206\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Go to shell and check the network IP address assignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code>show network summary<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"791\" height=\"460\" src=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-firewall-network-summary.png?v=1721935554\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-23207\" title=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-firewall-network-summary.png?v=1721935554 791w, https:\/\/kifarunix.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/05\/endian-firewall-network-summary-768x447.png?v=1721935554 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 791px) 100vw, 791px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>You should now be able to access your Endian Firewall via web from your host (if at all your network settings somehow resemble what we have here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"access-efw-web-interface\">Access EFW Web Interface<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For further EFW configuration, login via the web management interface, using the address <strong>https:\/\/&lt;your-efw-ip>:10443<\/strong> from a server that is connected to the same <strong>LAN network<\/strong>. Since we are using <strong>HostOnly<\/strong> interface for LAN, then we will access the EFW interface from my host machine.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-dd422dd5\">\n\n<p>Ignore the browser SSL warning and proceed to EFW dashboard to complete the installation.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>At the beginning, you are prompted to choose whether you need to register your Endian Firewall Community to get Free Updates. If you do not need them, just skip by clicking, <strong>I don\u2019t want any updates<\/strong>.
